It was a marathon that started at the ‘top of the mornin’ and went on to the ‘midnight hour’ filled with jigs and reels, sing-alongs and step dancers, and hundreds of spirited folks sippin’ the foam off a Guinness! St Paddy’s 2015 was celebrated with vigour and pride. Amidst the sea of green, The Kelly Girls whistled and fiddled all the favourites tunes of the day. If you were at Finnegan’s Pub in Hudson, Ma, or Waxy O’Connor’s in Woburn, we were thrilled to be part of your merrymaking. Sláinte!

The Kelly Girls played a sold out show at the Harvard General Store last Friday night. It was an early start to St. Paddy’s week, and the first of four shows for TKGs. The General had a terrific menu including a fabulous corn beef panini! Irish dancing was certainly a highlight! Our guest Ciara McGillivray put on quite a wonderful solo Irish dance performance inspiring the crowd to jump to their feet to give it a try themselves! There were tons of prizes, including TKG T-shirts, beautiful beer mugs, bumper stickers, gift certificates and St Paddy’s paraphernalia! If you missed the show and want a beer mug, you can get one here! Oh, and if you missed the rousing rendition of the Unicorn Song – you’ll have to come out to one of our show on the 17th! The Bull Run Restaurant in Shirley, Ma is one of the oldest traditional taverns in the state, and a hot spot for live music in Central Mass. The Kelly Girls lit up the Tap Room in mid-February for winter weary diners. Here are a few photos from the evening.

The month of March will hopefully bring warmer temperatures and melt some of the snow that’s been dropped on us this winter! We were delighted to be one of the featured acts in Worcester’s First Night Celebrations! The whole evening was a wonderful celebration of culture and the arts, and was a perfect way to ring in the New Year. 2015 is going to be epic for The Kelly Girls!!! We had a wonderful time performing with Nancy Beaudette at her holiday show in Framingham, MA this past Friday night. Along with providing angelic harmony vocals for Nancy, TKG’s took centre stage during the latter part of the show. From the warm traditional Canadian ballad, “The Huron Carole” to a rousing “Christmas In Killarney” the Girls rang in the Yuletide season with joy! Bluegrass Artist Dawn Kenney performed her song “Candy Cane Christmas”, and Scott Rossley and Steve Rapson rounded out the band. Thank you to all who joined us at the show!
